How to put yourself first and reach your goals in 30 days

Updated: Aug 23, 2023

Set yourself up for success by avoiding burnout by focusing on your self-care and your goals first.

I don't know about you, but I get burnt out easily. I used to pile so much on top of myself from work to family.

Self-care sounded like a luxury that I couldn't afford. That meant very few to no workouts each week, no rest before teaching, and no time for working on my own goals.

I have several chronic illnesses and would have flares that would put me out for weeks every 2–3 months. Except I wouldn't rest, because I "needed" to keep working.

But I'm not the only way who experiences this. Of all my students who I've taught over the past 12 years, nearly 95% of them who quit classes suffered from the same issues.

They never reached their goal of fluency in their target language. That's because the rest of their life—work, family—came first before their goals.

So in January after feeling burnt out yet again for about the 20th time in 5 years, I decided it needed to stop.

Now I haven't had a flare in nearly a year (!). I work out three times a week. I have time to garden. And I have time to work on my goals. Work is now secondary to my self-care time.

And in stopping this pattern for myself, I could also help my students do the same, too.

I've shared these same tips that have helped me with other students. And they tell me all the time how much happier they are now that they have time to work on their goals.

Here are some real-life examples of students who went through Set Yourself Up for Success...

  • Spanish student Elena now feels more productive at work while having more time for fun.

  • Spanish student Sydney has set aside time to work on her Spanish three times a week.

  • Italian student Lilia is finally writing her first book.

  • English student Cris has just joined her kids' PTA.

  • Spanish teacher Paulina is now visiting her friends for the next month in Italy.

And I'm now taking care of my mom full time with the same amount of time for my self-care that I set myself in January without giving up working on my goals.

That's because I'm about to reach my long-term goal! I've got plans to spend Día de Muertos in Central Mexico this year. That's been my goal for years, and I'm finally making it happen.

You CAN reach your first goal in 30 days with my program, Set Yourself Up for Success.

If you don't think the full program is right for you, then maybe I have a solution. You can get a little taste of what I offer and still reach your next goal in 30 days with my freebie, Language Action Plan.

Either way, I want to help you put your self-care and your goals first. That's all that really matters, ✨YOU✨.

TL;DR: Set Yourself Up for Success shows you how to reach your first goal in 30 days while putting your self-care first. The Language Action Plan is a free version of the full program.
