How to Improve Your English while Enjoying Pumpkins Galore this November

Going all out for Fall here in the U.S. means buying a ton of pumpkins of all sizes. We Americans love going to the pumpkin patch a few days before Halloween to pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve. All of this leads up to our biggest holiday of the year, Thanksgiving Day. There are plenty of opportunities in the Fall to learn about American traditions while improving your English!

How about you, are you a pumpkin fan, too, like our mascot Frankie is?

You already know that Thanksgiving is our biggest holiday of the year. It's all about giving thanks for what we've received over the past year, including health, family, and friends, all of which we celebrate together over the most delicious meal made with fresh turkey and produce cultivated in the U.S.!

And pumpkins, we can't forget the pumpkins. We folks who love pumpkin-anything buy these smaller pumpkins pictured to make pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cookies, and more with all Fall long.

Here's a look at a past Thanksgiving my family shared. And here are some delicious recipes for butternut squash, persimmon sangria, and pumpkin cream cheese muffins that you can add to your Thanksgiving table this year!

Would you like more opportunities to practice your English? What about learning about American customs? Then come to our free monthly English conversation group! Grab a coffee at Panera Bread in front of Otay Ranch Town Center Thursday, Nov. 29 at 6pm. We'll talk about American customs for the holidays, work on improving pronunciation and accent reduction, and practice listening to others speaking in a public place.
